At Biotage in Uppsala, Sweden we develop methods, technologies, and instruments for the medical technology sector. Our products are used for body fluids analysis as well as for drug research and production and are widely spread across various customers around the globe.

Who are you?

You are a software engineer with experience in not only coding but also requirements analysis, design modeling, object-oriented analysis and design, unit testing and documentation. You have a desire to improve quality through that verification mind of yours – both through automated tests and continuous verification. You appreciate being a part of a team, want to share your skills and use the team’s experience to enhance your knowledge. You’re fluent in both written and spoken Swedish and English.

You have the spirit to contribute to continuous improvement in our development process.

Who are we?

We are a ten-member strong team that develops control and analysis software for various life science instruments. Our strengths span across a wide range of skills and experiences and we work on multiple projects. We use an agile approach and welcome your input.

Our software solutions are designed to execute as an embedded system in a Linux environment inside the instruments. We are responsible for the entire implementation chain, from UX, via front-end, back-end, database interaction to the firmware. Early-stage and continuous verification is very important to us.

We utilize both Java and web technology to develop our front-end. Our back end is implemented in Java and our firmware in C. We also have some C# .NET products.

Our development environments run on Windows and we use Jira to manage our requirements and product care.

We would like you to have the following skills:

-          MSc in software/systems engineering (including programming) or similar level
-          Experience in software engineering
-          Java
-          Web technologies
-          A testing-oriented approach including continuous verification
-          Automated unit testing
-          Agile development process
-          Windows and Linux environments
