Custom packing service of PhyTIp columns with any resin of your choice
Biotage offers PhyTip® columns packed with a wide range of resins for purification of different protein types. However, if you do not find what you are looking for among our standard products we also offer a custom packing service. Due to our vast experience of packing PhyTip columns, we are able to pack virtually any affinity media, silica or resin ≥40 µm in particle size in our PhyTip column format. The columns can be produced to be compatible with all major automation systems. The resin can either be shipped directly from the supplier of the resin, or from the customer, and excess resin after customer packing is either returned to the user or stored for up to 6 months for future orders.

PhyNexus, now part of Biotage, developed the PhyTip column in 2002 and have supported researchers with automated protein purification ever since. PhyTip columns purify samples by repeated back-and-forth cycles - a process called dual flow chromatography which allows complete binding interactions in each purification step.
PhyTip® columns can be produced for all major liquid handlings systems and can be packed with resin bed volumes from 5 μL to 320 μL for processing of samples of a wide range of volumes and concentrations.
Due to maximization of binding of the sample, less protein is lost during the purification process. The result is very high sample recoveries.
Our unique column design with a packed resin bed results in binding of the entire sample to a small resin bed volume. The purified sample can be eluted in small volumes, resulting in a highly concentrated sample.
PhyTip® columns process samples by passing liquid back and forth across the packed resin bed several times - a process called dual flow chromatography. This is a gentle purification technique that results in high amounts of active protein in the purified sample.
