Technical Product Manager, Analytical

Your main responsibility as Technical Product Manager at Biotage is to understand and interpret current and future end user requirements, consequently be able to direct and oversee the development and launch of new products, working closely with R&D and other functions. To be successful in the role it is vitally important to have a strong technical background and an understanding of the drivers for both consumables and systems sales within the analytical business area, to ensure Biotage stays on top of the game regarding competition.

We offer a collaborative creative global work environment with global external and internal stakeholders. The Technical Product Manager role will be based out of either our Cardiff or Uppsala facility and reports to Vice President Global Marketing.

Job scope outline

  • Responsibility for the Product Life Cycle, through development, facilitating effective product launches, to end of life activities
  • Contributions to the product roadmap process, translating market requirements into product requirements for current and future products.
  • Provision of product support for systems, consumables and applications to internal customers within the organization.

Education and Experience

  • Ideally PhD or MSc degree in Analytical Chemistry or closely related area.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of working experience in either analytical laboratory as an end user or technical/marketing expert with supplier.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong business understanding from former product management or applications chemist (or similar) positions. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge within a bio/analytical chemistry environment.
  • Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a global work environment.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and respond to internal and external customers.
  • Fluent in English written and verbally, additional languages is positive.
