You have a solid understanding of development of integrated hardware and software systems. You are used to having overall responsibility on a high system level, and you can talk to each and everyone involved in projects, making them move forward to the common goal.

Biotage develops innovative and effective solutions for separation within analytical and organic chemistry, as well as for industrial applications. Biotage significantly helps to improve our customers' development of new medicine and analysis of samples from hospitals patients, forensic laboratories, or for the analysis of earth and water samples. Our products are also used to remove undesired substances from medicines during the production process.

Position Description

The main responsibility for this position is to participate in product development on a high system level, taking all aspects of the instruments and their surroundings into account and aiding mechanical, electronic, firmware and software designers to fulfill the requirements of the instruments. As system architect, you will take a leading role when setting architectural strategies for the development of new instrument products and also setting up and maintaining processes and systems for requirements management.

Essential Job Duties

  • Defining and developing requirement specifications and technical specifications for our instrument products.
  • Aiding the product managers in translating customer requirements and needs to technical requirements.
  • Aiding hardware and software developers in choices and proposals of design of product to fulfill the requirements of the instruments.
  • Setting architectural strategies for the development of new and updated instrument products.
  • Setting up and maintaining processes and systems for requirements management.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Solid understanding of development of integrated hardware and software systems. Preferably instruments for laboratory use.
  • Experience in defining and developing requirement specifications and technical specifications for systems combining hardware and software.
  • Experience in using, setting up and administrating tools for requirement management.
  • Experience in working with architectural strategies for the development of new products combining mechanics, electronics and software.
  • Expertise in Systems Engineering.
  • A reliable team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English written and verbally.
  • Verbal fluency in Swedish.
  • Knowledge of using, setting up and administrating PDM/PLM tools.
