JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an IT Technician responsible for supporting the US employees and their computers, systems and application software. This role will also provide IT remote support to the global business as needed and work strategically according to business needs and strive for improvements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Primarily provide IT support to local and remote end users, but also remote support to other sites as needed especially those without local IT staff.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and configure servers, desktop computers, networking, office equipment and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Be responsible for all US computers to be up-to-date regarding security systems (e.g., anti-virus, security patches). Administrate and maintain system monitoring of IT systems in US all in accordance with global company standards.
  • Provide guidance and support assistance to end-users in resolving technical or applications issues. This includes, but is not limited to, computer hardware, operative systems, Biotage standard applications, printing, network communication, etc.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and configure US telephone systems and cell phones.
  • Administrate support cases in our IT helpdesk portal.
  • Assist in IT projects, globally as well as at sites without IT staff.
  • Recommend, analyze and implement system enhancements and upgrades, including new solutions.
  • Maintain systems documentation and document new IT procedures. Log and maintain all software and assets.
  • Conduct end user training.
  • Represent the US IT arrangement and infrastructure on global IT meetings.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • 3 or more years’ experience in a multi-site IT system
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess a very high level of enthusiasm to support others and enjoy to work with problems and to find solutions
  • Ability to think strategically about IT and understand business needs and improvement opportunities
  • Be able to work independently with IT issues
  • Experience and knowledge of:
    • Windows 2012 Server environment and Active Directory
    • Firewalls, Routers, DHCP, SSL, TCP/IP, VPN and DNS
    • Network printing
    • IT hardware, servers, computers, network switches, UPS, firewalls, etc.
    • Windows 10 and Office application
    • Microsoft Office 365 suite
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365
    • System and Network Security

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may infrequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Work Environment

Office based in a cubicle; the noise level in the work environment is usually low-moderate.
