SLE used in extraction method comparison study

ISOLUTE® SLE+ the Given Choice when Comparing Methods for Determination of Sitagliptin and Simvastatin in Rat Plasma

24 August 2015

A group of Indian chemists have compared three extraction methods (SLE, SPE and LLE) for their efficiency to analyze sitagliptin and simvastatin in rat plasma by LC–MS/MS. The results show that ISOLUTE® SLE+ offered enhanced chromatographic selectivity.

Sample preparation is an important, and possibly time consuming, step in the biopharmaceutical analysis process because of the difficulties that follow with complex sample matrices such as plasma and urine. The need for time saving methods that offers high recovery and repeatability is ever present and this study shows how Supported Liquid Extraction can be a great option.
