Field Service Engineer (Switzerland)

We see you as a driven “entrepreneur” with chemistry background with interest of system and support customer to achieve their task as efficient as possible. Your main responsibility as Field Service Engineer at Biotage Europe is active management of onsite activities at customer site in the region of Switzerland, and surroundings for our products covering Organic, Analytical and industrial industry. With goal to provide quality field support and develop our customer relations for our installed.

We offer a collaborative creative global work environment with stakeholders in EU market for field sales, Customer Support center, Research & development and finance departments. Field support engineer reports to EU Field Service Manager. Position based in Basel/Zurich area

Job Scope Outline

  • Your principal duties are to deliver field service support including Maintenance, repair, installations, and training on our installed base to meet or overachieve customer expectations.
  • You are responsible to drive and manage the daily operating business together with our 1-Point support team in Uppsala. First line of qualification and scheduling of all work assignments performs at 1-PointSupport team.
  • Account managing together with Account manager, service sales and field service manager for customer reviews, assist on escalations, identify opportunities to partnership.
  • Be active part of EU sales and service support team to develop service products for future
  • Work and develop how we deliver the field activities efficient together with our coordinator for our customers in Europe.
  • You will have own product ownership and have the possible to be an expert on a product, with close collaboration with R&D.
  • Deliver training on our products to end users.
  • Administration of your work orders, reports to customer, spare parts, tools.
  • Travel is mainly in Switzerland and south Germany but depending of specialist skills range can be wider for escalations and installation of new products.

Education and Experience

  • Background in lab environment with chemistry background
  • Technical interest and have experience from lab systems

Required Qualifications

  • Communication, ability to build trust at customers to build long-term relations.
  • Technical understanding of system to be able to perform work on your own.
  • Understanding of chemistry behind the system to be able to work proactive with customer to help them utilize their investment.
  • Organized, to be able to plan your work orders in an efficient way.
  • Commercial experience within Sales and/or marketing preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively well with customers, peers and colleagues, especially in situations with high levels of emotion, in order to ensure team, company and customer success.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English written and verbally, German /French language(s) is positive
