Extraction of Synthetic Cannabinoids (SPICE) from Oral Fluid

19 December 2016

This Application Note from Biotage Labs in Cardiff, Wales, describes the extraction of a range of synthetic cannabinoids, also known as SPICE, and metabolites from oral fluid matrix collected using the NeoSal™ devices, prior to GC/MS analysis.

This effective and efficient ISOLUTE SLE+ protocol is optimized for 1 mL sample volumes. The simple sample preparation procedure delivers clean extracts and analyte recoveries greater than 82% with RSDs lower than 10% for all analytes.

ISOLUTE® SLE+ supported liquid extraction plates and columns offer an efficient alternative to traditional liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) for bioanalytical sample preparation, providing high analyte recoveries, no emulsion formation, and significantly reduced sample preparation.
